Fleet Week New York Lays Anchor in JC Sunday, May 26

It’s that time of year again – Fleet Week New York! A fun-filled week and opportunity to pay tribute to our maritime services. Come celebrate with Sailors, Marines, Coast Guardsmen and our fellow citizens! Now in its 31st year, this annual, week-long event will take place from Wednesday May 22 to Tuesday, May 28. In addition to public visitation of participating ships, there will be numerous exhibits, military band concerts, and aviation events throughout the week. Make sure to mark your Calendar during Fleet Week for Sunday, May 26. Jersey City will be in on the action with a full day of family-friendly, fun Fleet Week activities at Liberty State Park!
Schedule of Fleet Week Events on Sunday May, 26 at LSP, 200 Morris Pesin Drive:

10:30 a.m. – 11:50 a.m.: LSP Fleet Week 1 Mile Fun Run & 5K Race A brand-new event this year, hosted by City Challenge Races. Registration begins at 9:30 a.m.

12:00 pm – 5:00 p.m.: Join the U.S. Navy (USN), U.S. Marine Corps (USMC) and U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) as they showcase the latest capabilities of today’s maritime services. Event will include a performance by U.S. Fleet Forces “Brass Band;” USN and USMC helicopter static displays; USN Dive Tank; USO; USMC Martial Arts Program demonstration and pull-up challenge; USCG Search and Rescue demonstration; USCG Silent Drill Team and USMC Battle Color Detachment performances; military static displays, including Stewards of the Sea, World War I Commission, Submarine Forces, Navy History and Heritage Command, USMC ordnance and vehicles; kids activities, bounce houses and face painting, food trucks and much more! Event is free and open to the public.

1:30 p.m. – 4 p.m., Youth City Challenge
Another new event for families. This 1 Mile – 10 Obstacle Course is for youth ages 5-12. Registration begins at 1 p.m.
