Attitude of Gratitude – Part 3

When it comes to Italian food, you know what they say. If it ain’t broke…When you are in the mood for dinner at Laico’s (11), nothing else will do. This Greenville landmark is as real as it gets when it comes to classic Italian American dishes. That said, Laico’s can go head-to-head with any new Italian restaurant. Their menu is recently upgraded, the staff at the full-service bar make superb cocktails and the multi-generational team welcome everyone like family. A must-try, if you have not been, and a must-go-back-soon if you have.

Speaking of old school Italian, we love that Andrea Salumeria (12) in the Heights, Carmine’s (13) on the West Side and Second St. Bakery (14) downtown are all still serving up delicious Italian sandwiches and breads. Cangiano’s (15) in downtown Hamilton Park has made a huge impact on the neighborhood since opening a few years ago, bringing their Staten Island recipes, dishes, Italian cold cuts, and groceries into a Jersey City neighborhood that was clamoring for it. On that note, we want to congratulate our friends at our beloved Prato Bakery (16) for their rapid expansion in Jersey City and Hoboken. Prato was an instant classic the day they opened. We are grateful for you all!
