Horseshoe Bar and Kitchen is a Must Try
A new restaurant has taken over the space formerly occupied by Jersey Social at the base of the Canco Lofts, in what some now refer to as “Soho West”. We had a fantastic time there and while it’s a teeny bit off the beaten path, we highly recommend a stop here.
We love the menu from Chef Chris Scott, a finalist on Season 15 of “Top Chef” and owner of Butterfunk Biscuit in Harlem. It is global fusion focused on classic soul food flavors and Southeast Asian cuisine. This is the amazingly satisfying combination that we never knew we needed. Our dinner of Black Bean and Dal croquettes with mango vindaloo curry, a delectable side of crispy tater tots, the Crispy Fish Sandwich and Calcutta-Style Street Noodles was absolutely delicious and the combination really works.
The cocktails are equally pleasing. Specifically the Sweet Fern – a refreshing mix of Tito’s, club soda and lavender. Our other favorite – in a completely different direction - was the Chai OneOn, made with Four Roses Bourbon, a homemade sour mix, egg white, chai and cinnamon. So pleasing!
