Rider Up! The JC Ward Tour is Coming Up

Attention cyclists – It’s almost that time of year again! The 13th Annual Jersey City Ward Tour is happening on Sunday June 2. Join approximately 3,000 other cyclists on this iconic 15-mile tour through all of Jersey City’s 6 wards (can you name them all, btw?)

Registration and bib pickup will get underway at Exchange Place beginning at 9am with a sharp rollout of cyclists at 11am.

Admission to join the tour is $10 per cyclist unless riders are under 16 (free!) or over 60 ($5).

The Ward Tour is run by BikeJC, an advocacy group that has effectively pushed for more bike lanes, free bike parking and overall safer streets for cyclists. Not only that, they offer training and free repairs for cyclists as well as the ever popular Light Up Bike rides from March to October. These are monthly social night-time rides the second Friday of each month, beginning at the Grove St. PATH Station at sunset. Riders are encouraged to light up their bikes and themselves for this leisurely and beginner-friendly ride that is anywhere from 10-20 miles

Check out the BikeJC website for more details on these events and the biking community in JC on the whole.

PS. The 6 wards = Greenville, the Heights, the West Side, Journal Square, Historic Downtown and Bergen-Lafayette. But you already knew that!
