‘Tis the Season to Be Tree Shopping
There are so many places throughout New Jersey (including Jersey City) to pick up your holiday tree.
You will find church lots aplenty here and in neighboring Hoboken offering trees of all kinds and sizes for sale. They are easy to run into and all offer cut trees that can be carried (size-willing) or stuck atop your car for a fee that usually equates to a nice and deserving tip.

Our recommendation: Bouquets and Baskets
Located in Harsimus Cove at 548 Jersey Ave., this tidy florist has been in business for such a long time and it’s nice to add, they have been great donors to many local businesses and schools looking for flower donations for fundraisers over the years. During the holiday season, they sell trees outside the shop and quickly give a fresh cut before you purchase.

Our recommendation: The Farm At Green Village
Beloved among many gardeners in JC, the Farm is a year-round favorite for their beautiful and meticulously cared for assortment of perennial and annual flowers, evergreens and shrubs. They also are home to a large assortment of native plants. As the flowers fade and deciduous leaves fall, The Farm stays vibrant and alive with their festive holiday lights and gorgeous selection of Holiday themed planters, decorations and Christmas trees. They carry Frasier, Turkish and Douglas Firs as well as our favorite - the Concolor Fir! These beautiful blue-green trees offer great needle retention and also give off a delightful citrus scent which attracts us humans while mercifully not attracting the attention of our pets!
Hours are Monday-Saturday from 8am-6pm and Sunday from 9am-5pm.

Looking to Cut your Own Tree?
Peapack Christmas Tree Farm is the real deal. It is a low-key relaxed environment with a selection of beautiful trees in a bucolic setting. It is a relatively short drive from JC (50 minutes) but feels worlds away. Trees come in all sizes and the laid-back staff is kind and ready to bring out the Paul Bunyon in you.
