It’s here! Milk & Cream Cereal Bar opened May 28 on 175 Newark Ave., the first-ever franchise of the original downtown NYC shop (157 Mott St).  Business has been non-stop, with a steady stream of customers lining up social-distance style to savor the super sweet concoctions.  It’s the stuff many kids (present and former) dream of – ice-cream blended and topped with your favorite sugary cereal and classic candies, cookies, and syrupy drizzles.

First up, pick your ice cream base – vanilla or cookie dough. Then pick what to blend it with from the lengthy list of cereals – Fruit Loops, S’mores, Cap’n Crunch, Apple Jacks, Lucky Charms, Cookie Crisp, you name it – pretty much anything other than the likes of All Bran. Next up pick your topping and then finish with a drizzle of either strawberry, chocolate, banana, caramel, jelly or honey. Too many decisions? In that case, opt for one of the established specialty concoctions. These include the Cookie Crisp Carnival, the Apple Jack Avalanche, and the Froot Berry Bliss.

There are also milkshakes – we ordered ours with S’mores Cereal, Brownie bites and a caramel drizzle all blended in. Cereal bowls are also available – two types of cereal with whole milk, a topping and a drizzle. Pints of ice cream to go are currently not available, but who wants to wait to get home anyway?

Congratulations to Milk and Cream Bar for such a strong opening – now of all times. Hours are Wednesday – Sunday from 1pm – 8pm.
