Calling All Gelato Enthusiasts!
JC fans of gelato, rejoice! Italy’s Gelato Festival World Masters worldwide competition is coming back to America for the second year, and the first U.S. stop is here!
About the Festival
Started in Florence, it is a three-year international competition where 5 thousand gelato chefs from around the world compete for the chance to be one of 36 finalists to participate in the 2021 grand finals in Italy, and the chance to be crowned Gelato Festival World Master.
In the United States, Gelato Festival America selects the best gelato chefs through 24 touring festivals, spread over 3 years, with an American final in 2021 that will grant access to the world finals. Last year, the search and tour included four stops in the U.S. This year, there will be 8 competing festivals in America, with stops in: Jersey City, Boulder, Chicago, Washington DC, Los Angeles, Dallas, Scottsdale and Tucson, JC being the first stop.

When: Saturday, August 11 from 12pm – 8pm and Sunday, August 12 from Sunday 12pm – 7pm
Awards Ceremony: Sunday, August 12, 7:30 pm
Where: Liberty State Park Terminal Concourse, 1 Audrey Zapp Drive
What: Sample flavors from local competing chefs, drop into the Gelato School to learn its history, and let kids participate in the gelato-making process.
