Canard Café Bar Brings It to the Urby

Our award for best ground floor retail in a residential building goes to the Urby in Harborside. Located adjacent to the fabulous DomoDomo restaurant, Canard Café Bar has now taken over where 9 Bar used to be, just weeks after Canard’s sister café opened in the Financial District in NYC.

Before we get to the café and all it offers, let’s just say that the ground floor space of this building has beautiful bones and stunning design. If you have not yet been, we think it is well worth a visit. Light pours in all day from the South and West facing windows. Plants hang down dreamily from the high arched ceilings. At the super spacious café with separate areas for communal smart desks, cozy tables, and lavish sofas, a steady stream of Urby residents, freelancers/remote workers and local moms settle in or set up shop to work.

Now for the menu. Canard has all the expected specialty coffee drinks. Our flat white was perfectly not -too-milky, and not a drop of bitterness. On the cold drink front they offer smoothies, protein shakes and freshly squeezed OJ and grapefruit juice. Morning meals include bagel sandwiches, quiche and sweet or savory pastries. Lunch offerings are plentiful including wraps, crepes, and pressed sandwiches. Delectable desserts include macarons, cakes and mochi.

The team here have done such a fabulous job getting the Café fully established so quickly – it is no wonder it is such a big hit. Thanks to its size, you will have no trouble finding a seat – for now anyway.

Oh, one last thing to know - Canard is cashless. Follow their IG @canardcafebar for more details about the Café.
