Celebrate Pi Day with Delicious Pies in JC
March 14th (3/14) is International Pi Day! Pi (Greek letter “π”) is the symbol used in mathematics to represent a constant — the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter — which is approximately 3.14159. Pi Day is a time for math enthusiasts to recite the infinite digits of Pi, talk to fellow enthusiasts about math, and to eat pie. And with that, here’s our 3 top spots to eat pie (year-round) in JC.
Cocoa Bakery
We’ve written before about our love of Cocoa Bakery. The creation of former Nobu Pastry Chef Jessica Isaacs, Cocoa Bakery is beloved for its beautiful custom cakes, pastries, cookies, cupcakes, tarts and last but not least, sumptuous seasonal pies. The current pies on the menu this month are Chocolate Peanut Pie, Key Lime Pie, and Mascarpone Cheesecake.

Hamilton Inn
We love everything about the Hamilton Inn – the sleek but beautifully detailed design, the killer brunch, great cocktails and friendly staff (love their uniforms, too). We usually get the fish tacos for dinner and when we feel like indulging, we top them off with the to-die-for Banana Cream Pie, with house made whipped cream and chocolate shavings on top. Mathews Food and Drink
Our perfect meal at Mathews is all about the starters and finishers. While we love every entrée we’ve had at Mathews, we are prone to ordering the Deviled Eggs and Falafel Bites appetizers as our main and for dessert, a slice of S’mores Pie, made with white chocolate mousse, butterscotch, a whiskey ganache and a graham cracker crust.
