Check out La Bodega 2.0

This family-run Dominican-American restaurant in the Heights recently kicked off their re-opening with a celebratory ribbon cutting ceremony. Owners Carmen and Neil took over from her parents upon their retirement after 30 years of business. They switched up the ambiance – the new space is bright and spacious with plenty of seating, hanging plants and natural light – but the menu remains proudly Dominican-American.

La Bodega is open daily for breakfast and lunch. In the morning, enjoy a latte or drip coffee with a serving of Tres Golpes – a traditional Dominican breakfast dish with mashed plantains, crispy fried cheese, fried salami and sauteed onions. You can also order a Cuatro Golpes which adds Spanish-style sausage similar to chorizo.

The lunch menu includes beef and chicken stews, stewed pork chops, baked or BBQ ribs, fried fish and chicken plates, pork cracklings and daily soup specials. Side dishes include yucca, fried plantains and assorted flavors of rice and beans. The prices are beyond reasonable and you can certainly make a full-size vegetarian or vegan meal with all of the salads and side dishes available.

You can follow La Bodega’s Facebook page @La Bodega Latin Cuisine and order delivery/takeout through Seamless and GrubHub (enter your address to determine if you are in the delivery zone).  Here is to many more years of success!
