Go-Kart Racers, Get Set Go!
The new racetrack at RPM (Race Play More) in Jersey City is pretty much the Autobahn of the go-kart world. Except in place of 6-speed Audis, you are racing with super-sleek Italian-made go-karts. The massive track and newly upgraded karts meet the need for speed and comfort for all levels of racers.
First off, let’s discuss the new Megatrack. It was unveiled in January and is lauded as one of the most technically advanced kart tracks in the world. With over 2,200 feet of action, there are three levels of vertical elevation and ramps, 90-degree hairpin turns and lighting fast straightaway race lanes. As for the karts, RPM has upgraded their Jersey City fleet for both adult and junior racers with digital dashboards, reverse and turbo gear options and comfortable upholstery.
Beyond the formidable racetracks – including a flat track for younger racers - there is a full-size arcade, eGaming and a snack bar which will be upgraded to a full-service bar and grill later this year.
We will be honest – this did not sound fun to us until we were summoned for a group event and ended up having an enthralling evening. To that, group outings/races are a good way to go here. The competitiveness kicks in the fun and group rates can bring the cost down (at approximately $30 a race, these thrills don’t come cheap). Private lessons and youth camps are also available.
