Cheers, Con Vivo!

Jersey City’s Con Vivo Music is the coolest chamber music ensemble around. Since 2007, this collective of musicians from NYC and NJ have operated with a singular mission – providing free, world-class concert music to all regardless of class, location, or income. Throughout the years they have performed across Manhattan, Brooklyn, Hoboken and here in JC at venues like the Barrow Mansion, Grace Church Van Vorst and Temple Beth El. They have collaborated with Nimbus Dance Works and other beloved community organizations like Friends of Van Vorst Park and the Embankment Coalition. They have made excellent, adventurous concert music fun and easily accessible.

As with all performing arts organizations, 2020 brought about unforeseen challenges in how to connect with audiences. Con Vivo rose to the occasion and re-imagined how to bring music to the masses with a series of online concerts. With two summertime virtual concerts under their belt, Con Vivo will present again this Fall. We are giving all of you Beethoven afficionados ample time to prepare for the online ode to Beethoven in October!

What: Beethoven at 250 with DUO Stephanie and Saar.

Who: Pianists Stephanie Ho and Saar Ahuvia collaborate as DUO Stephanie and Saar in dazzling performances filled with visceral excitement, elegance, and artistic vision. Recent performances include their Lincoln Center debut with Igor Stravinsky’s Rite of Spring; collaboration with Philadelphia’s Orchestra 2001 in a complete performance of Frank Zappa’s The Yellow Shark and Symphony Space’s Wall to Wall Bernstein, a marathon celebration of Leonard Bernstein’s 100th anniversary.

When: Thu, October 22, 2020 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
Livestream video at http://www.facebook.com/convivomusic

How: To ensure the highest video and audio quality, this performance will be pre-recorded and broadcast on the Con Vivo Facebook page. Following the performance, DUO Stephanie and Saar will be available for a live Q&A about the music.

Final nice note about Con Vivo. They are donating all 2020 concert donations to social justice and diversity-minded organizations.
