Cool Coastal Vibes at Dune and Salt
We love the luxe beachy vibe at this Hoboken shop. The original Dune and Salt opened on the Jersey Shore (Sea Girt, to be exact), with the Hoboken store to follow and a new location in the Shore’s Bay Head after. The Hoboken location has the smallest footprint but like all 3 shops it includes a curated selection of high-end casual beach and loungewear, jewelry, and a range of candles. All the products are locally and/or sustainably and ethically sourced as much as possible.
Two jewelry collections are featured in the Hoboken shop. One is a lovely range from the Calliope Sisters – two local Hoboken girls who produced the range with the help of their mom. They donate 20% of the proceeds of their sales to the Hoboken homeless shelter. The other brand is Swahili Coast, a beautiful collection of beaded bracelets and necklaces made from Swahilian women. The candle brands include the popular Brooklyn Candle Company, and Dune and Salt’s bespoke range of 4 beach-inspired scents – Bungalow, Salt, Dune and Surf Shack, all hand-poured in Weehawken. The candles – which all smell amazing – are poured into glasses that serve as perfect size cocktail glasses once the candle is melted through. So fitting, as it was a night drinking cocktails with friends that inspired Salt and Dune’s owner to open a small business that supported sustainability, small artisans, and invited conversation amongst folks with a shared love of the sea.
