Just days ago, the Drip Coffee Culture truck rolled up to West Hamilton Park to the delight of so many locals in Hamilton Park.Where have you been? was the most common question posed to owner Eric Maury. The answer to that is a great one…

Eric is a native of Fairlawn with a background in advertising and real estate.  The idea for Drip was borne out of a conversation two years ago with his then-colleagues; “We were talking about what we would do if money was no object. And I thought, well I would listen to hip hop and r n’ b all day, definitely serve great coffee and maybe smoke a joint on my lunch break. Well, 2 years later and here I am.”

So first, the coffee. It is Counter Culture (delicious) and the lovely pastries are from Balthazar. Next, the design. Eric purchased a 1964 Shasta camper in Brooklyn, then sent it off to South Carolina to have it fabricated to become the perfectly designed mobile coffee shop that it is. Eric loves hip hop culture as much as he loves coffee, and so he hired a rising artist of graffiti work to design the exterior of the truck. It looks beautiful!

Eric and his staff serve great drinks and some of the sweetest customer service around. It is going to be fun to watch Drip roam – the current plan is to work with residential buildings and developments throughout downtown. Lovely to see new businesses – and the great people behind them – continue to rock it out in these weird times.
