So. Lots of us work and live local, and as such we may have historically experienced the Jersey City waterfront as pretty much a transportation gateway – its’ fascinating historic and scenic importance notwithstanding. That said, it’s so, so different now. Under the invested eye of Mack-Cali CEO Mike DeMarco, a guy born and raised in Jersey City, Harborside is now a destination in itself. If you haven’t checked it out recently, here’s the deal.

EATING
District Kitchen
JC’s rep as a destination place for tri-state foodies to eat is well served here. 13 of the best local restaurants are bringing it! District Kitchen is currently open weekdays 7am to 7pm

Ani Ramen
Hip ramen spot with a downtown Jersey City location, as well as in Montclair and Summit. Besides ramen, find donburi bowls, bao buns, and other traditional Japanese izakaya small plates.

Angry Archie’s
Longtime local food truck known for its crab cake sandwich and lobster roll.

Baonanas
Banana pudding in a range of flavors, from cookies and cream to match to Nutella.

The Belgian Plate by Waffle It. & Co.
Made-to-order sweet and savory crepes and waffles, plus soups, salads, and sandwiches.

Canteen To Go
Casual outpost of Jersey City Indian restaurant Canteen Desi Dhabi serving Mughlai dishes.

Nefesh
Mediterranean and Turkish hand rolled and stuffed flatbread wraps.

Kimchi Grill
Modern Korean-street food fusion, all topped with house made kimchi.

Left Bank Burger
Craft burgers with decadent toppings.

Little Sushi Shop
Grab-and-go rolls, soups and salads.

MoD cup
Longtime Jersey City-based cafe and coffee roaster.

Pizza Vita
Half a dozen Naples-style wood-fired pizzas, cooked in 90 seconds.

Salt + Seed
Formerly a fixture at area farmers markets and food events, vegan salads, sandwiches, desserts, and plant-based specialties.

Tidal Poke
Hawaiian inspired poke bowls with build-your-own options.

DRINKING
Adjacent to Harborside’s District Kitchen, and accessible from the Atrium and via street level, Manny’s District Lounge mixes up memorable cocktails in a moody, industrial setting enlivened by art installations, ping pong tables and VIP lounge areas.

A menu of signature drinks incorporates local spirits from Misunderstood Whiskey and Corgi Distillery, along with cold brew from Mod Cup Coffee; local beers are available on tap or by the bottle. Open from Wednesday to Saturday evening, it’s the ideal spot to get your night started – or close it out.

At Harborside Atrium, 210 Hudson Street
