Los Cuernos is Open!

Last month we wrote about the much-anticipated re-opening of Battello on our downtown Jersey City waterfront.  Since then, another scene-y spot has joined this area’s evolving restaurant scene, adding delicious and authentic Mexican flavors in a fabulous interior.

Los Cuernos is a massive 5,600 square foot restaurant by Andrea and Phil Baraza, the husband and wife team behind neighborhood institution La Taqueria on Grand St. The two-level space includes a large bar area with tabletop seats, and two dining spaces – one with views to Los Cuernos’ huge open kitchen. The walls are covered with pictures of music legends and Mexican icons, along with vintage movie posters. It’s a very fun interior. The menu is a mix of celebrated La Taqueria staples like their traditional street tacos, along with new appetizers and more refined dinner plates and seafood dishes. As for the (full) bar, there is a delicious bunch of margaritas to choose from in mouthwatering flavors like hibiscus, pineapple and watermelon, along with a great beer selection.

Congrats to the Barazza family for this exciting new venture! We have been longtime fans of La Taqueria and it’s great to see this talented team grow their business in Jersey City, with an expansive space to allow their culinary talent and aesthetic vision to run free. Enjoy!
