Spa lovers, rejoice. Gaia’s Cavern has recently opened at 140 Wayne St!

The brainchild of Kitty Varco, the affable and super-creative owner of Downtown’s LaKoet Hair Salon, the spa shares LaKoet’s warm vibe, eco-friendly ethos, and focus on highly effective services and treatments that make you look fabulous while nurturing your body and soul.  Expect, too, the same level of talented, kind staff, along with organic and/or ethically-created products much like Varco’s bespoke product line for LaKoet. Note: if you are still in restless search of the best-smelling, best all-around hair product out there, LaKoet’s Blue Moringa Oil is it!

Back to Gaia’s Cavern. Gaia’s skilled practitioners offer a range of customized facials, massages, foot baths (!), Reiki therapy, and waxing. Yes, even waxing is pleasurable at Gaia’s Cavern.

The services on offer all sound so heavenly (and effective), that the only stress involved in this relaxation oasis is where to start pampering yourself. Among our favorites:

The deep tissue Cannablessed Massage, with a CNB oil/arnica-infused rub down. This treatment promises to calm, restore and invigorate, while penetrating muscles and pain points to alleviate any pain or pressure.

The Gaia’s Youth Juice Facial, which tackles aging, discoloration and dryness issues via an organic blueberry firming peel, AHA fruit pulp and naturally derived retinol.

The Revita-Eyes under-eye treatment, which includes an organic fruit peel, hydrating and collagen-stimulating masque, and hibiscus-infused lift and line filler.

The Chai Tea Foot Bath, with a specialized soaking concoction of anti-oxidant-rich spices to stimulate circulation, boost blood flow to the skin, and give you an overall glow and sense of well-being.  Daily foot baths were stressed in ancient Chinese and Japanese medicine, for both spiritual benefits and their ability to relieve tension and illness. Who knew that the soles of our feet contain more sweat glands and sensory nerve endings per square centimeter than any other part of the body? Not us!

There’s plenty more services to explore here, and we will! Hope you get a chance to experience Gaia’s Cavern too. It’s an indulgence, sure, but one that’s so worth it, on many levels.
