As their 15th season approaches, Jersey City’s Nimbus Dance Works is preparing to move into their permanent home in Downtown’s Powerhouse Arts District (PAD). The Lively, a boutique apartment community from Lennar subsidiary LMC, will be home to the Nimbus Arts Center at the Lively, a 14, 200 square foot multi-arts facility.

On the ground floor, adjacent to the resident entrance, will be the Nimbus reception area, which will host rotating exhibitions of visual art. A quick flight up leads to a theater lobby and 150-seat black box theater. One more flight up is a large space complete with floor-to-ceiling windows for studio and rehearsal rooms, as well as administrative offices for the Company and potentially other arts organizations seeking office space.

Under the leadership of Artistic Director Samuel Pott, an acclaimed Choreographer, dancer and alumnus of the Martha Graham Dance Company, Nimbus has steadily delivered world-class concert dance, education and events not just in Jersey City but to dance audiences across the Country. Along with the professional company, the Nimbus School of Dance teaches ballet, modern, hip hop and tap to students from 2-18, as well as instruction for adults. Nimbus emphasizes small classes, expert instruction, and offers performance opportunities in their beloved annual Jersey City Nutcracker production, as well as a spring showcase for all students. Students can also audition for Nimbus’ Youth and Junior Youth ensembles and Pre-Professional Programs.

We are very happy for our friends at Nimbus, who have elevated the Jersey City arts community and educated and enhanced the lives of so many families, artists and residents here.
