Explore NYC Museums (and more) for Free through the JCFPL

The Jersey City Free Public Library (JCFPL) is a marvel and continues to execute new programs that, along with their wonderful collection of books, make them such a great community center and resource.  Did you know that the library no longer charges late fees for book loans? That audio books are often immediately available upon a new book’s release? Beyond books, the community events include literacy and ESL, counselling, book readings, yoga classes, Story Time, music instruction, book clubs, art and craft workshops – all of this for most ages and the list goes on.  They also offer free wireless printing and for cardholders in good standing, free NYC museum passes. Specifically, for The American Museum of Natural History, the New York Transit Museum and the Guggenheim Museum. Passes should be available at some point for the Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum – the JCFPL is waiting for the physical passes to arrive. You can refer to the Library’s website for updates on this.

To obtain a pass or voucher, simply visit the Lending Department at the Priscilla Gardner Main Library. These are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis and are non-renewable. Each library card is eligible for one pass or voucher at a time, and passes are available for a 3-day loan period.

Visit the JCFPL website at https://www.jclibrary.org/services/museum-passes/ for all of the details about this wonderful benefit for JC residents. Have an excellent and educational summer!
