One Dee Siam Delivers

Both literally and figuratively. We are compelled to mention as One Dee Siam was dine-in only for a time when they first relocated here from NYC’s Hell Kitchen in September 2021. We loved going to their original tiny spot back in the day for the authentic Thai and Asian food and the warm service. Their JC location at 137 Newark Ave. is the former home of fellow Thai restaurant Sawadee. It is indeed more spacious and offers the same extensive menu of delicious and flavorful food.

There are appetizers, soups, salads (both regular and spicy versions with rice), curry dishes, noodles, fried rice dishes with seafood, duck or vegetable bases. Our favorite apps include the Crispy Curry Puffs – minced chicken with veg and Thai herbs in a pastry shell – and the Tod Mun Pla – spicy fish cakes that are also satisfyingly crispy. There are six styles of curry – we have loved all we have had and are especially partial to the Country Style Curry with chicken. On the vegetarian side the Avocado Curry is equally yummy – mixed veg, tofu, bamboo shoots, avo and basil stewed in red curry. Fantastic. Oh and let us not forget the Special Thai Menu which includes 6 iterations of Crispy Pork Belly. Happy eating!
