Located on a quiet stretch of a mostly residential block in downtown Hamilton Park, Scale Fish Market has been steadily and successfully growing their business, expanding from fresh whole fish and shellfish sold by the pound to a market of prepared seafood meals as well. The lobster rolls, crab cake and blackened fish sandwiches are favorites (if not cheap). They have a raw bar of oysters available at lunch and dinner as well as daily specials. They purchase locally sourced seafood from the Jersey Shore and Montauk as well as exotic shellfish from as far as Japan. The owners are super affable and freely offer advice on what to buy and when, as well as preparation tips. You can also peruse the shelf of caviar and specialty seasoning for your at-home seafood prep. Scale also offers really fantastic catering platters of fresh seafood.
