Oaxacan Gem Going Strong in the Heights

Fans of Oaxacan-style Mexican food have been flocking to Los Tres Chilitos for 13 years now. The husband-and-wife owners originally opened the business as a food truck. Today, “The Three Chilis” is now a bustling restaurant on Central Ave. that serves an extensive menu of breakfast, lunch and dinner dishes. Starting with breakfast – Los Tres Chilitos is known for their Oaxacan-style tamales, which come wrapped in banana leaf. If you love your tamales, be advised to get to LTC in the am, as they sell out every day. The tacos, gorditas, enchiladas, tortas, sopas and flautas all have vegetarian versions as well as kid-sized servings. They are open 7 days a week and like many a treasured small business in JC, the food and service is what drives their enduring popularity vs. a social media presence or (working) web site.
Drop in any day from 8am – 10pm. Fridays – Sundays, Los Tres Chilitos stays open until 11pm.
