Soaring Views, Spectacular Seafood on The Waterfront
While Batello remains closed indefinitely as repair work continues on their waterfront pier/home, another gorgeous, giant seafood restaurant has opened up shop close by on the river.
Hudson & Co, a self-described “nautically-themed gastropub” is a 12,000-square-feet restaurant and event space. 4,000 feet are dedicated to a stunning water-facing terrace, but all rooms within Hudson & Co. offer spectacular views of the NYC skyline and Hudson river, via floor to ceiling glass windows. With seating for nearly 300 diners, Hudson & Co. also has a private dining room – again, with amazing views – that can accommodate up to 35 people.
Beyond seafood dishes – including wild caught artic char and Asian-themed offerings like tuna tartare rice cakes, there are steak-house worthy options like the 40-day dry aged New York strip and juicy prime beef burgers. Non-carnivores are well tended to with entrees like the butternut squash ravioli and a good choice of salads. There’s also a wide selection of artisanal wood-fired pizzas and an accomplished dessert menu. A full-service bar includes over 120 beer selections.
As with Batello, there is an accomplished team behind Hudson & Co., with the chops to successfully take on a such an ambitious undertaking. Restauranteur/Owner Jeremy Castilli is the man behind Tribeca’s AOA Bar & Grill and Pier 115, in Edgewater. The kitchen team is run by Executive Chef Stefan Ondrus (also of AOA Bar & Grill, along with BLT Bar & Grill) and Chef de Cuisine Dmitri Petriakov (3 Westerly Bar & Grill, BLT Prime). To which we say, welcome to the neighborhood!
