To Pasta, With Love

At the Moorefield Group, our diet is definitely carb-conscious, particularly during the shorts and swimwear season. That said, when we do indulge, we want it to be worth it! That’s why we love love love Pasta dal Cuore (“Pasta from the Heart” in Italian), the homemade pasta shop, Italian restaurant and absolute gem on Jersey Ave.

First, the pasta, which is made fresh and sold every day.  This includes raviolis, spaghetti, pappardelle, linguine and fettucine. We have discovered that once you go down the freshly made pasta route, it’s hard to go back to boxed brands. Yes, Pasta Dal Cuore’s painstakingly made pastas are that sublime.

Now for the restaurant, which opens for supper at 5pm, Tuesday through Sunday. Our favorite fresh pasta dishes include the ever-popular Short Rib Ravioli, served in a cipollini onion puree and topped with grana padano, and the Maltagliati Pugliesi, thin strips of pasta with super-tasty Italian sausage, broccoli rabe, red pepper and pecorino romano. The menu is partially inspired by coastal regions throughout Italy, so there are plenty of delicious seafood options like the classic Zuppa Di Mare, a pasta soup with shrimp, branzino, calamari and clams. On the non-pasta front, we are also crazy about their Pollo Milanese, which is the most perfectly prepared lightly breaded chicken breast, served with salad, avocado, and polenta croutons.  There’s also plenty of delicious options for vegetarians and vegans alike. Note, Pasta Dal Cuore is BYOB, as well as chic, delicious, and one of our favorite spots in town!
