Update: Marijuana Dispensaries in Hudson County
Jersey City’s second Medical Marijuana dispensary is now open.
Downtown Flyr is located at 141 Newark Ave. following the opening of the first medical marijuana site to open here, RIPT Dispensary.
Both openings come after marijuana became legalized Statewide in early 2022.
RIPT first opened at 220 Broadway with some fun infamy. Their location was previously home to Wilson’s Carpets, the business permanently embedded in our cultural memories thanks to its place in the opening credits of the Sopranos.
As for adult recreational use, the first medical marijuana dispensary to open in Hudson County - Harmony Dispensary – has been open for adult recreational use since March of this year at their location in Secaucus.
As for the licensing and opening of more facilities, we are especially waiting on what happens with the business plan of one of our favorite small business owners and community leaders in Jersey City, Ms. Shayla Cabrera. She is the former owner of a beloved plant store here and should be one of the first out of the gate to have a license here, for many reasons.
