Shalea Walker has been working internationally as a licensed esthetician and professional makeup artist for nearly two decades. Her work has been featured in countless magazines and media outlets including Vibe, The Today Show, Marie Claire, Teen Vogue, Black Beat, Real Simple, Fitness, New Jersey Life…the list goes on and on. She has worked with a diverse range of celebrities including Ne-Yo, One Direction, MGMT, Jussie Smollet and Diane Reeves, to name just some. And she is also here for us in JC, as the proprietor of Walker’s Apothecary. Located on Newark Ave. after previously being on Mercer, Walker’s Apothecary is a beauty and skincare spa specializing in customizable services and products for women and men.
Those services include facials, body and face waxing, makeup application and tutorials, and her coveted eyebrow shaping service. The new product line – The Awakenings Collection – consists of cleansers, toners, serums and oils designed to bring out your absolute best skin. Best, too, is that all these products are cruelty free and vegan. Among them is the Green Dream Sativa Cream. Derived from hemp leaves, flowers and 500 mg CBD, it is a great anti-inflammatory for dry, acne-prone and sensitive skin types. The Aqua Water keeps skin super hydrated during the cleansing process so there is no need to play extra catch up with moisturizers later. The enzyme oil cleanser soothes and gently exfoliates skin with enzymes, antioxidants, zinc and Vitamins A and C.
Walker also provides clients with a customized blend of beauty and skincare products designed exclusively for them, to complement her retail product line.
