Can We Make Room For Mamoun’s?

Well it is official, we now have not one but two Shake Shacks in Jersey City. The first one being in the Newport Mall and the second near the corner of Grove and Columbus that used to house a Subway. Very happy to have Shake Shack but …we are like everyone in that we don’t want our town to be overrun by chain stores and eateries but there are definitely quality levels to compare in what chains offer. As anyone who has enjoyed Shake Shack can attest! And as much as we love the shakes and fries we want to toss another name out there to be the next chain we hope to make it here – Mamoun’s Falafel.

Oh, Mamouns. This business started in NYC in 1971 and have expanded so nicely without ever losing what makes their fresh, authentic Middle Eastern cuisine taste so sublime and flavorful. They have multiple locations in NYC and around the country and we just love to focus on their delightful shop in Hoboken. The sandwiches and plates – all centered on chicken, shawarma(lamb) or falafel as your protein – come with these perfected sides and accompaniments that define what makes Mamoun’s so crazy really good. The staff here is super nice except for their unwillingness to share the secret recipe of the Mamoun rice. We do not blame them!
