Cavany Foods and Market is now open! Located at 235 Grand St. in a coveted corner spot, the Café, Grocer, and meal delivery service is spacious and comfortable. The Café serves coffees, bubble teas, and breakfast treats (croissants, monkey bread, pastries, etc.) from Balthazar Bakery. There is also a small but good quality selection of groceries and soft drinks including their bespoke Lemonade (absolutely delicious) which stands on the shelf next to Natalie’s Natural Lemonade which is also super refreshing and became an obsession of ours during this scorcher of a summer.
Otherwise, everything else at Cavany’s is made in-house by a talented team led by owner and Chef Alejandro Ferrer. A native of Venezuela, he attended the School for Food and Hotel Management in Buenos Aires along with The Chef Institute Gato Dumas (also in Argentina) and the famed Le Cordon Blue in France. He has cooked and traveled throughout the world. This is evident in the flavor profiles and quality of the meals offered in the café and the delivery service.
You will find Asian, Italian, South American, and other culinary influences in the salads, sandwiches, pasta dishes, and seafood. They are all made organic with the freshest ingredients, and there is a great selection of vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free meals. You can enjoy them in the café or sign up for the weekly meal delivery service. There are three options of 5, 7, or 8+ meals to be delivered to your door once or twice per week.
