Cyclists, Your Commute Just Got Better

Cyclists, have you been using those storage pods near the Journal Square PATH? Yes or no, you and all other cyclists have reason to rejoice. Oonee, the Brooklyn-based company behind them, has forged a new partnership with Jersey City and will expand the service across mass transit locations in JC.

The newly expanded locations for the free, 24/7 storage pods will start with the Danforth Avenue Light Rail Station and McGinley Square. Pods at Exchange Place, Washington & Montgomery Streets, the Grove Street PATH Station and the Newport PATH Station are next up. There are plans for 24 more stations following this initial launch phase.

One of the biggest benefits of this cool system besides the utter convenience is the security. Once you sign up online or download the Oonee app, you have access to a pod that is much safer than an unprotected bike rack. Each user’s identity is verified and the pods are all monitored 24/7 by a mobile security camera.

Oonee also has cool rules. For one, there is minimum parking during peak time to make sure everyone has fair access rather than someone just parking their bike indefinitely.

Check out the website https://www.oonee.me/ and get on the Oonee train!

Happy riding and parking!
