Hamilton Park’s Bombay Vada House is Fantastic
131 Erie St. has seen a good number of businesses come and go, most notably the fantastic Blue Lotus Indian Restaurant. Their epic Brunch is missed by many. With that said, we are so happy they have an excellent successor in Bombay Vada House. This no-frills, friendly restaurant serves up Indian street food that is flat out delicious.
Included on the menu are both savory and sweet treats that swerve vegetarian, though there are a substantial number of chicken dishes including Chicken Tikka Masala, Korma, Punjabi-style Curry and good ol’ Butter Chicken.
Bombay Vada House is an ideal place to try out small snack dishes and explore different Indian flavor combinations. The Dabeli, for one. Dabeli is a popular snack food from the Gujarati region. It’s made with mashed potato, a special masala sauce, sweet chutneys and stuffed in a fluffy bun. Also try the Pav – spicy vegetable gravy served with pillowy dinner rolls. You can order a combo of both.
We came in hungry so we ordered from the Tiffin Special which allows you one entrée with your choice of side dishes. We went for Sag Paneer – that delicious spinach and cheese staple – with a spicy Dal, white rice and laccha paratha – a hot, fluffy yet crispy bread that we all fought over.
Another big hit for the lunchtime crowd are the sandwiches – choose between Aloo Mutter, Veg, Jam, Cheese or the Bombay Grill. You can have them regular or (we strongly recommend) grilled.
This food is super authentic, we love the low-key vibe and prices, and we wish this team longtime success at this locale!
