Dream Vista Café Now Open
Dream Vista Café just opened on York St., in the space that formerly housed Vogue Café. If you are familiar with owner Balsayat’s original café in Hoboken – Café Vista – it will be no surprise to you that the interior is gorgeous. Awash in a range of soothing blues, the walls are covered in a beautiful toile wallpaper and an exotic landscape complete with elephants and huge palm trees, painted by the owner’s artists friends working out of Brooklyn. Better yet, walk through the two-room café and out back you will find a fabulous large patio complete with tables, lounge chairs, benches and a playhouse for kids. There is plenty of shade making it the perfect spot to linger with a friend with some of their delicious food and drink.
Menu items include croissants, spinach feta and beef burek (rolls), Turkish bagels (wider and thinner than NY-style), omelets, toasts and dessert items like cheesecake, molten cake and baklava. The coffee is excellent, and the specialty drinks include a lavender latte (so pretty), Turkish coffee and Blue Matcha. Our hands down favorite drink – of the summer, really – was the Blue Lemonade. So refreshing, not too sweet, and served with sprigs of mint and lime. Perfection.
Café Vista is currently open from 8am to 4pm. Follow them on IG @dreamvistajc for updates and menu additions.
