Dreamy Drinks, Gifts and Eats at Lil Dove
Have you frequented The Lil Dove Café on Palisades Ave. in the Heights? It is an utter delight on so many levels. The food, the drinks, the merchandise, the décor…it’s all so light, lovely and charming.
So, let’s start with the food. The Café is open Wednesday through Sunday for breakfast and lunch, from 9am to 2pm. The morning offerings include a nice assortment of sweet and savory croissants, Danishes and scones from Balthazar Bakery. All verifiably delicious. As are the wonderful, wonderful breakfast sandwiches including bagels and the egg sandwiches. Choose between the Classic Egg - two scrambled eggs and cheese or the Upgraded version, with chives and caramelized onion, or the Spinach and Egg with gruyere cheese and chipotle sauce. All are served on a pillowy brioche bun. There’s also a delicious breakfast grilled cheese with eggs, gruyere, tomato and pesto on sourdough. Lunch is equally yummy. There are Toasties (tuna melt, ham and cheese, BLT and Nutella and Fluff), Roast Beef, Turkey, Tuna Salad and Chicken sandwiches, and their signature Avocado Toast. Don’t forget the delightful Strawberry Summer Salad with added greens, walnuts, red onion and goat cheese.
Next up, the drinks, hot and cold. So good. Fantastic coffee – be it hot or iced and a great selection of specialty matcha, latte, espresso, chai and turmeric tea concoctions. Also hats off to Lil Dove for their version of the Classic Arnold Palmer (half iced tea, half lemonade) – sooo refreshing as it is not too sweet.
And now let us talk merch. Such good stuff here including beautiful skincare products from Pholk, an assortment of candles, server ware, great greeting cards, and hair accessories and jewelry.
Finally, the shop is beautiful. A nice place to hang indoors in the future. For now, they will take in walk in orders but ask that you order online to limit contact time via https://lil-dove-cafe.square.site/. There is also some nice seating outside in which to socialize.
