Enjoy the Age of Innocence at Ocean Grove

Ocean Grove is a beautiful beach town that sits next to Asbury Park but is worlds away culturally. While Asbury is known for its bumping nightlife and busy boardwalk, Ocean Grove is a quiet and quaint town known for being conservative (read: it is a dry town) and also quite religious. In the summer, the famed Tent City is erected from May to September. Mostly Methodist folks flock here and hanker down next to each other at the price of 8k for the season to live in close quarters, worship at the massive amphitheater and adhere to the community rules – quiet time between 10pm and 8am included. While that aspect of Ocean Grove gets a lot of attention, there is so much more for day trippers to enjoy here. For one, the beach is spotless. Second the town may not serve alcohol but the Main Street which leads right up to the beach is full of charming inns, shops and cafes. Honestly, Ocean Grove has a distinct charm of its own, with its quiet boardwalk, small dunes and stunning beach. Somedays this is the place to hit when you want some quiet and a glorious shoreline with the buzz and booze nearby.
