Family-Style Flowers and Coffee in the Heights

One of the many things that make Jersey City so special is the number of family-owned and operated small businesses that are still here and are always such a pleasure to support. Flor y Café, the Puerto Rican mother-and-daughter-owned florist and café on Central Ave. in the Heights is one such business!

Floral arrangements are created for every occasion and there is also a lovely selection of fresh-cut flowers and succulents to purchase. They also have a cool wall of dried flower arrangements – available for either purchase or inspiration.

Next. Coffee! The family behind Flor y Café proudly hails from Puerto Rico, and the coffee they sell is 100% Artisan Coffee from the Jayuya region of PR. This is a mountainous region at more than 2,000 feet of elevation which provides ideal conditions for coffee beans. The family sources these beans directly to their shop and it gets better – stop into Flor y Café and they are happy to teach you the optimal way to roast the beans and make your perfect cup of coffee on the spot! What a lovely experience to visit – thank you Flor y Café!
