Luscious Greenery and Flowers in the Heights
Rudo Plants and Home is a delightful plant nursery on Palisade Ave. in the Heights. The cozy shop has a surprisingly large selection of well-tended to house plants including many hanging plants that will work beautifully hanging by hook or ceiling near your windows. They also have a stunning collection of seasonal cut flowers – the arrangements of jumbo sunflowers complemented with deep purple and pink native flowers, for example, make an effortlessly dramatic statement on the table.
Rudo also carries a great selection of ceramic and MDF planters that look like concrete but are so much lighter and more durable than the real thing. Many conveniently come with pre-drilled drainage holes to boot. You will also find some super stylish gardening tools that elevate the basic versions of themselves (scissors, twine, watering cans, pre-filled spray bottles, etc.). We also like the sweet collection of plant-themed greeting cards.
If the name sounds familiar, the Bayonne-based owners of Rudo used to sell their wares at pop-up shops throughout the County and at Little Boho Bookstore (also of Bayonne). This store is a unique and very welcomed addition to the Heights – be sure to check them out!
