Jersey & Co. Gelato Hits the (Sweet) Spot
We have found our new favorite spot for gelato – the creamy, dreamily dense Italian version of ice cream. Jersey & Co. Gelato opened on the West Side’s Mallory Ave. in 2018, the brainchild of 3 friends all native to JC and recent NJCU graduates.
One of the partners spent time in Italy learning authentic gelato-making technique, which he then shared across the business. The lengthy list of available flavors is impressive including vegan flavors like coconut and pistachio, low-sugar gelato and if you are opting for something a bit lighter, refreshening sorbets. They also serve some amazing drinks like gelato milkshakes and the Boba’lato, which is their own very unique hybrid of gelato and bubble tea. We also love the affogato milkshake – which is a combination of the gelato flavor of your choice combined with two shots of espresso. They also serve regular espresso coffee drinks like cappuccinos, lattes and chai lattes and have even branched out to savory food with a delightfully crispy on the outside, chewy on the inside grilled 3-cheese sandwich.
Jersey & Co. has plenty of shaded outdoor seating to enjoy your sumptuous gelato treat. Summer hours are Monday through Thursday from 2pm – 9:30pm and Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 1pm – 10pm. Keep up to date on their Instagram page @jerseyamdco.gelato
