More Ramen, More Peace

Muteki Ramen is a fabulous Japanese noodle shop that just opened its second location. The first locale opened in Hoboken in 2020 and now JC is home to restaurant no. 2. They are located in Paulus Hook in the former home of Pianist Envy Piano Bar. The sexy red interior of the space remains and what is new is the unbelievable flavors. Muteki Ramen’s slogan is No Ramen, No Peace. All we can say is that food this delicious is worth any slogan you can throw at us. Anything so we can keep slurping.

The protein-heavy menu includes everything you would expect and look for in a ramen shop – Buns stuffed with any of the following - shrimp, pork belly, fried chicken thigh, etc. So many delicious appetizers including dumplings, gyoza, shrimp tempura and two versions of Japanese style chicken wings. There is also a number of Rice Donburi dishes and of course, Ramen.

The Ramen dishes here are offered with two types of noodles – thin or wavy. Wavy noodles allow you to slurp up the thick soup base, as in the Vegetarian Ramen. Now, there are 14 different ramen dishes here, all but one of which start with a pork or chicken broth and then filled with the protein and vegetables of your choosing. We just have to point out that the Vegetarian Creamy Ramen dish holds it own. Filled with the same Asian veg and seasonings of the other dishes, the Vegetarian Ramen subs the animal protein with Tofu and is held together with an unbelievably good thick broth made from soy milk.

The food here is so excellent. Delivery and pickup service already on point. Ramen rocks. Happy to have another fabulous eatery in Paulus Hook!
