Olivia’s is a New Hoboken Gem

We have written over the past two years with straight up awe for the long-term restaurants that managed to survive the pandemic and for the new ones that have emerged. On the latter end we include and hail Olivia, a gorgeous spot in Hoboken at the tail end of Garden Street. Not only did they open in 2021 to well-earned acclaim but they recently expanded as well.

So much good stuff to say about Olivia’s. The design is lovely – rustic yet refined with modern art deco touches that complement the crazy creative Mediterranean menu. Appetizers include Grilled Octopus, Wild Eggplant & Mushroom Croquettes, Filet Mignon Tacos and Crispy Baby Artichokes. There are plenty of delicious sharing plates including their beloved Olivia’s Guacamole and a super tasty Whipped Ricotta. Mains include perfectly executed seafood pasta dishes along with a gluten free Vegan Bolognese made with non-dairy cheese. The wine list is lengthy and excellent as is the offering of cocktails. Got to love the 1038 Garden Street – made with mango Rum, guava juice, mint and lime juice. That is just the tip of the iceberg on the inventive cocktail offerings. We posted last month about great mocktails, and Olivia delivers them too. Our favorite is a sassy update on the Shirley Temple. Here it’s upgraded with Elderflower accompanying the maraschino cherries and ginger ale. In short Olivia’s is both refined and sweetly welcoming. Check it out!
