Raise a Glass to Pint & to Pride

August is Jersey City Pride month. Clearly festivities this year will be appropriately subdued, but in the spirit of Pride, we raise a celebratory glass to Wolf Sterling and Tommy DeMaio, the co-owners of PINT, and their loyal staff.  This beloved neighborhood gay bar has always welcomed their doors to everyone, and now is no different. Throughout the stress leveled on all small business owners in JC and beyond, the team at PINT have kept their signature humor, creativity, and sense of community intact. Since late May, they have been offering contact-free, cashless take out service of pints of craft beer and cocktails to go, at Happy Hour prices. Click here at https://pintjerseycity.com/ to order, pay and tip pre-pickup. Service starts daily at 4 pm.

Now that outdoor seating is allowed, Pint has absolutely nailed it from every angle. A couple of weeks ago, they unveiled The Parklet - a rainbow-emblazoned outdoor sidewalk café with cubicles designed for safe social distancing. Each 6ft lounge comes with skylights, ceiling fans, touchless ordering, and plexiglass windows. They are open from 4 pm -10pm and considerately set up a special number for neighbors to call in with any issues. To add to the festive vibe, they enlisted local artist Damon Gasparine to create colorful murals of some of the neighborhood’s favorite doggies. So, while Pride celebrations will be vastly different this year, Pint is the perfect option to gather in person to safely celebrate each other, this community and this fabulously run business.

That said, many folks will opt to participate in Pride online. The Jersey City Pride Committee has teamed up with local businesses and organizations for a series of virtual events to commemorate the 19th year of JC Pride. You can find the current schedule of events at
