Satis Expansion Coming Soon

To the delight of many in JC, one of Downtown’s most beloved bistros is expanding. Paulus Hook’s Satis Bistro has taken over the adjacent space that for the past 14 years was the home of John’s Pizzeria. While the construction and alignment of the two spaces is underway the upstairs mezzanines are currently connected.

Satis became THE neighborhood spot since opening their doors in 2010. It was not just the fab outdoor area that beckoned and still does, nor the charming rustic European-inspired dining interiors that get prettier and cozier over the years. We think what keeps the neighborhood so devoted is the top shelf food and drink. The menu draws from the best in French, Spanish and Italian dishes. The same dishes that we went nuts for back in the day are still the most popular. These include their famed charcuterie board, the homemade Ricotta Gnocchi (wild mushroom and truffle parmesan cream) and the two of the best side dishes you will ever find in this town, or anywhere perhaps. Those would be their NYT hailed and acclaimed Brussel Sprouts and our personal fave, the Patatas Bravas. This Spanish dish of crispy potatoes, pimento, scallion and garlic aioli is one of the most savory pleasures we know. A great pleasure to accompany the food is the fantastic people watching on the patio.

Satis is currently open for dinner Monday – Thursday from 5 – 9pm, Friday and Saturday from 5 – 10pm, and Sunday from 5 – 9pm. Brunch is served Saturday and Sunday from 11am – 2:30 pm.
