Southern Comfort in Paulus Hook

Another beloved NYC restaurant has expanded to our shore, in the retail space at the base of Portside Towers to be exact. BobWhite Counter is now open for pickup and delivery with a limited menu. The original opened in Alphabet City in 2012, soon becoming something of a citywide institution for people craving Southern comfort food classics at their finest and most comforting.

Owner/Chef Keedick Coulter, a Virginia native, brines his grass-fed poultry in sugary sweet Southern tea, then rubs in a mix of spices, flour, and milk. After a toss in the pressure fryer, the chicken comes out delectably juicy on the inside with a crispy, deep golden skin.
While the fried chicken is the star attraction, the menu (both the currently offered and the regular one) has lots of good stuff to add on, liked smoked wings, macaroni and cheese, salads, mouthwatering biscuits and more.

Bobwhite has wisely taken delivery and pickup options into their own hands – and yours. You can call to order at 201-435-5026, or download their free Bobwhite app. Using the app allows you to earn points to be used for free food, with the vital added benefit of avoiding cash and credit card handling when picking up food.

BobWhite is open daily from 11:00 am to 7:30 pm. Breakfast sandwiches are available on Saturdays and Sundays from 11:00 am to 3:30 pm.
