Spring Clothes Shopping in Hoboken

Spring is here and with summer just over the horizon we are feeling the urge to refresh and revitalize our closet. These retail spots in Hoboken make it nice and easy to look fab while shopping locally and ethically.

MARGO Market is a woman-owned small business that operates as part of the slow fashion movement. The movement is generally defined as the opposite of fast fashion – meaning clothes that are made to last vs. mass production of cheaper quality, and clothes are constructed with respect paid to animals, the environment and the workforce behind the garments. Or as MARGO puts it; “At MARGO, we are striving to connect our customers with artisans all over the world, allowing consumers to connect on the human side of the transaction.” The store and their online shop carry a tastefully curated selection of women’s clothes. There are dresses, jumpsuits, trousers and shirts in lots of creamy neutral tones with occasional pops of color. They also sell gifts, a small amount of homeware and a nice range of jewelry.

Oran Apparel is a menswear store with one location in Red Bank and two in Hoboken. Oran Apparel carries brands that elevate basics and casual work wear via smart tailoring and modern cuts on button down shirts and chinos. They also sell beautiful topcoats that look very smart paired with one of the Scotch n’ Soda hoodies sold at their more casual outpost, Oran Athleisure. They give that same hipster casual upgrade to bathing suits, t-shirts, sweats and the like. The staff, like their clothes, are very cool and chill.
