Event Alert – The Jersey City Oddities Market is back! On Sunday, April 16 they are presenting Spring Mourning, at the Sip Studios at 140 Sip Avenue. If you are in the mood to shop, there will be over 20 alternative art-focused vendors. Shop away whilst being entertained by live burlesque performances at 1pm and 3pm. If you are looking to learn a new skill or have a somewhat morbid curiosity, do check out the taxidermy workshop by Afterlife Anatomy.
Established in 2016, the Jersey City Oddities Market is a pop-up marketplace that focuses on the niche oddities and alternative art community. Their events routinely host over 100 local taxidermists, artists, jewelers and crafters.
One of the very cool vendors you will see at this event is Antisocial Jewelry Company. Based out of Jersey City, the team actually created the JC Oddities Market after continuous rejections from more traditional markets. Their work combines bone and other organic materials with metals and is inspired by all things related to death and mourning.
Another vendor we are looking forward to is Amy Fae of Visionary Tarot. She identifies as a practicing witch and natural intuitive who uses her gifts as well as extensive tarot knowledge to guide people on their journey through life.
Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the door.
