Vegan Superpowered Shakes and More at VegBar
Yet another superb juicery/vegan eatery is open in our midst. The latest is VegBar, located in Hoboken at 464 Newark Ave., close to the JC border and the Hoboken Fire Station. While the first VegBar in Newark is vegetarian and mostly vegan, the Hoboken locale is all vegan all day.
The menu is full of pleasing plant-based comfort favorites along with healthy fruit and veg, juices and elixirs to promote good health as well as happy tastebuds.
The Organic Juices and Smoothies selection includes freshly made concoctions with names like Satisfy, Hello Sunshine, Skin Glo, Sunriser, Eye Opener and Sweet Green -all made with lots of fresh fruits, herbs, vegs and vitamins. The Shakes, however, take it to a whole other level. The Island Banana Punch adds on angostura bitters, dates, vanilla, nutmeg, oats and almond milk – so delicious. The Purple Rain shake is the most beautiful drink to behold, its bright royal purple color coming from the mix of raw chocolate, bananas and blueberries. It is one of the 3 shakes creaeted to promote endurance as is The Chocolate Wonder Shake, which is purported to boost metabolism as well.
Food options include salads, wraps, sandwiches and burgers with all the usual tasty toppings prepared and paired with vegan ingredients. There are also pasta specials and soft serve ice cream and cookies for dessert.
