Established in 2016, the Jersey City Oddities Market is a pop-up marketplace that focuses on the niche oddities and alternative art community. Their events routinely host over 100 local taxidermists, artists, jewelers and crafters.

We are hooked – hooked, we tell you – on Veloce Specialty Sandwiches. Located on a quiet residential stretch of Baldwin Ave. in the Heights, Veloce is a hidden-ish gem. We say hidden-ish because while the whole town might not know of Veloce, loyal regulars do.

The beginning sessions start up in March and there are 3 time slots to choose from - Sundays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Thankfully JCAS supplies everything you need including oil paint, brushes, palette, palette knife and surfaces.

Bon Vivant is a luxury boutique cake shop beloved fam in NYC’s society and creative circles for their signature and camera ready petit fours. They recently relocated from the Upper East Side to their new home in a beautiful sunlit corner at the base of 295 Johnston.

This business started in NYC in 1971 and have expanded so nicely without ever losing what makes their fresh, authentic Middle Eastern cuisine taste so sublime and flavorful. They have multiple locations in NYC and around the country and we just love to focus on their delightful shop in Hoboken.

We are so excited for MODA Studio JC to open their vintage showroom/studio here. Owners/ Couple Joey Meyers and Mark Baehser relocated from Brooklyn to Jersey City in 2015 and have been documenting the full renovation of their 19th Century Victorian on their IG account.

A recent trip to the Zimmerli Art Museum at Rutgers was a fun trip back in time to 19th Century Jersey City. The exhibit “Picturing Jersey City; Nineteenth-Century Views by August Will” is a treasure trove of visual history by one man on a mission.

As the month heads to a close, we wrap up our list of 23 things we are grateful for in Jersey City.
